Gifts For Baby Shower
For a new parent to be, the time can drag by awaiting the arrival of the new baby. For us the friends and family, we sit around waiting for the phone to ring and hear the great news of the new baby arrival. This is the time to start looking for and buying those great little memorable baby gifts.
You can do two things. You can throw caution to the wind and go out and buy a baby gift that you think will be unique and different or perhaps you could call and ask the new parent what they could use for the baby. If you were to ask me, I say go for it and buy a unique gift you think the baby would love and let your wisdom flow out into finding that perfect gift.
You may want to spend a little time having a look through a online gift site in the baby gift ideas category and see what is new and which gifts are on the top of the list. There are many great new baby gift ideas now and many are perfect for the baby and parents together. A nice baby gift is one that can be used for years to come and not just for the first few months. A gift basket is still one of the top gifts given at a baby shower as you can fill it with all the little gifts that you personally have selected.
If you’re going to give a baby gift basket then this would be a good time to add a bottle of champagne or wine for mom and dad. The bottle can have alcohol or not but just remember they are exhausted and a toast to the new baby just seems like the right thing to do.
A new baby blanket is perfect at this time and the new bamboo or silk blankets are great. Have it personalized to add a personal touch to your baby gift. Silk blankets are the most beautiful gift you can give as the baby will love the feel of it against his or hers skin.
The list of toys for the baby is a mile long. Talking mobiles and talking bears are great. There are new toys that respond to the babies noises and the new born will learn to make sounds to activate the talking toy. As I said the list is endless.
There is a wonderful gift every new mom should have. This is a gold or silver locket and chain. For hundreds of years it has been traditional to give the new mom a locket with the baby’s picture in it. Hundreds of years ago they put a little lock of the baby’s hair in the locket as well. You may want to engrave back of the locket with the baby’s birth date and any other info you can think of.
We don’t want to leave the dads out here as most guys are now walking around like a proud roster. There are many engrave-able photo frames and key chains that you can add the baby’s picture to. He will want to show off his new arrival so he will need a photo carrier for his pocket to give him extra bragging points.
The first months the baby is at home the proud new parents will need a digital camera. It is very important that these early years are recorded for both the parents and children later in life. The parents can get very busy so it may be up to grandma and granddad to get the pictures. Keep them safe as one day they will be very important to the whole family to look back on.
Some but not many new parents still need the basic gift items like bath products, Baby soap, and a squeaky yellow duck, drying towels or perhaps a brush and comb. I know it is hard for some not to be practical but gifts for the home are good to. Gifts like a baby survival book, plug covers for the walls, First aid baby products and most of all a good CD with relaxing music for mom and the baby.
One of the best gifts of all is pampering mom and the newborn. Yes showering mom and the baby with gifts is traditional but mom and the baby need time love and rest of which anyone of these are a gift in it’s self.
