Gifts For Baby Boys
The moment you decide to organize a baby shower, you are in for some fun… but you are also taking on a big responsibility. Baby showers are by definition theme parties, with the main theme being (of course) babies. Still, you can choose from a wild array of themes both for baby boys, baby girls or mystery gender babies. No matter what theme you end up deciding towards, your baby shower should be a celebration of love, care and life. Baby showers are amazing in that way: now that your friend is about to become a mother, her emotions might be all over the place. Having all the people she loves celebrating her unborn son might be just what she needs, and definitely something she’ll always remember.
So, you’ll have to start somewhere, and as we were saying the theme is one of the most important parts of the celebration. An increasingly popular theme, for which people all over the country have been coming up with exciting, original and low-budget decorations, is the ladybug theme. It’s amazing for any gender; unlike some themes that are reserved for “mystery babies” mostly because of the color palette that they involve (ducklings, frogs, etc); the ladybug theme can also be used for boys and for girls. The main colors for your decorations will probably be red, black and white. These are more than suitable for girls if you just use extra hearts and polka dots for the cups and napkins, and they also go great for a boy’s baby shower… you can even make it mostly black and white, with some small details in red here and there. Just browse your local supermarket – the best part is that you don’t really need to buy special themed party decorations apart from the cups or plates, you’ll find lots of regular party paraphernalia on that color range -.
You’ll find several kinds of invitations that match your theme, but still, sometimes you’ll want to come up with something special for each guest by making your own party invitations. Ladybug baby shower invitations are actually quite easy to make, even if you are on a budget. You can make simple yet effective and great looking invitations with some plain white cardstock, just use some ladybug stickers on the corners and handwrite each invitation with a special ink marker. You can also use a plain black marker or a graphics pen. Finally, add some details in red with colored pencils and you’re all set. Once you have all the needed information on the card (Name of the mother-to-be, party venue, time, directions on how to get there, etc) just embellish each one with some silver glitter and glue.
Send out your ladybug baby shower invitations on small-sized white envelopes, which you can easily personalize to match your handmade baby shower invitations. First, get a hold of a polka dot plastic pattern and some black spray paint. Carefully align your envelopes on top of some used newspaper and spray paint them with the polka dot pattern on both sides. Once they are dry, just paint vertical and diagonal lines on the corners with a thick, red marker. Your envelopes and invitations will look unique and amazing, and the best part is that you’ll still have most of your party invitations budget to use on the party itself!
