Sister’s first baby, what to buy her?!?

Hey there girlies )

Honestly, your idea sounds very sweet and you sound like a wonderful sister to have …. but….

If you have enough money to buy a couple of outfits and other things I would probably use that money to buy one bigger thing that she will get plenty of use out of (e.g. swing, play mat, bouncer etc) and one gorgeous outfit you love.
I just had my baby and many, many people give you cute outfits as most people’s budget stretches to an outfit as a gift, but not something bigger. I have had trouble getting good wear out of all the clothes as they grow so fast.

If you went ahead with your idea, it would be VERY appreciated I am sure, but as an Aunty I would consider buying one bigger thing that she will use quite a bit. A good friend of mine bought me a rocker for my baby and I was so impressed. It sits in my lounge and she sees it anytime she visits and I feel good that she sees it in use.

Whatever you do, it will be appreciated!!

PS. If you are going with a basket a few things I was given was
- a dummy (I wasn’t going to use it like most mums but we all seem to cave!)
- a dummy clip
- a rubber ducky(or similar) that you put in water to test the temperature of the bath.
- a wrist rattle or one with a tiny skinny handle to grip.
- comfy & washable fabric change mats/pads to go over the cold plastic mats (baby has so many accidents and I only bought one!)
- any thin large flannel or muslin wraps that you can swaddle with.
- Burp rags (I have a puker!)
